Purchasing/Receiving Clerk

Full-time, Non-Exempt - Monday through Friday

Salary Commensurate with Experience

The Purchase/Receiving Clerk is responsible for the receipt and processing of purchase requisitions, procurement and ordering of approved items, receiving and inspection of orders, storing and inventory management, invoice processing, and data collection for assigned departments. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all state health department, FDA & OSHA regulations.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Receives and verifies purchase requisitions with the LCS Group Purchasing Vendor List.
  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price point; obtains recommendations from vendors for purchases and substitutions as needed; and obtains final approval from Procurement Manager and/or Area Director of Finance.
  • Manages delivery of orders and supplies; tracks & verifies receipt of orders; and resolves any discrepancies with vendors as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with suppliers and resolves issues regarding backorders, returns or incorrect billing.
  • Maintains storerooms in organized, sanitary, and clean condition on accordance with all state health department, FDA & OHSA regulations
  • Maintains specified PAR levels of storeroom inventory and utilizes FIFO with receiving, organizing, and rotating products and supplies.
  • Generates and maintains monthly inventory of all items in storerooms.
  • Maintains supplies in employee breakrooms.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in purchasing, inventory control, or receiving (healthcare or hospitality), or related field preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with inventory management software
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and multitask
  • Ability to perform data entry and simple math
  • Ability to pay attention to details and retain information
  • Ability to concentrate with frequent interruptions and stay organized
