They prepare parts for coating, operate and monitor PVD machines, and perform basic maintenance, often within a manufacturing environment.
- Operating PVD Machines: Loading and unloading parts, setting parameters, monitoring the coating process, and performing basic maintenance.
- Part Preparation: Cleaning, preparing, and handling parts for coating, including cleaning tools and fixturing.
- Quality Control: Evaluating coating results, inspecting tools, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Maintenance: Performing basic preventative maintenance on PVD machines, such as checking fluid levels and cleaning components.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of work performed and any issues encountered.
- Safety: Following all safety protocols and procedures related to PVD coating equipment and materials.
- Communication: Taking initiative on written and verbal communication and potentially overseeing projects.
- Basic Math Skills: Performing basic mathematical calculations, such as converting numbers between decimal and scientific notation, or between English and Metric systems.
