1. Teaching & Learning
- Plan, deliver, and reflect on inquiry-based, concept-driven lessons aligned with PYP philosophy.
- Develop and implement Units of Inquiry (UoIs) collaboratively with the teaching team.
- Integrate literacy, numeracy, science, social studies, and personal/social skills into a transdisciplinary programme.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Create a learning environment that encourages curiosity, agency, critical thinking, and creativity.
2. Assessment & Documentation
- Use a range of formative and summative assessments to monitor and support student learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Prepare student portfolios, progress reports, and conference documentation.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the school’s assessment practices.
3. Pastoral Care & Classroom Management
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom culture in line with IB values.
- Support students’ social-emotional development and promote the IB Learner Profile attributes.
- Establish clear classroom routines and expectations.
4. Collaboration & Professional Engagement
- Work closely with the PYP Coordinator and teaching teams on curriculum planning.
- Participate in professional learning related to the IB PYP and school priorities.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding learning and well-being.
- Assist in organising school events, exhibitions, and community activities (including the PYP Exhibition, where relevant).
5. Contribution to School Culture
- Model international-mindedness and promote global citizenship.
- Uphold IB philosophy and the school’s mission, vision, and values.
- Contribute to building a supportive, collaborative, and innovative school community.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching certification/qualification suitable for primary education.
- Prior experience teaching in an IB PYP environment (preferred).
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and constructivist pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
