What You'll Do

Data Pipeline Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data ingestion frameworks that connect external data providers, internal applications, and enterprise databases.
• Create reusable, modular Python components that support long-term maintainability and operational efficiency.
• Build and optimize ETL and ELT workflows that deliver clean, reliable, and accessible data across the organization.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and availability across multiple business-critical systems.
  
  

Business & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner directly with traders, analysts, researchers, and data science teams to understand evolving business requirements.
• Translate complex operational and analytical needs into practical technical solutions.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource throughout project planning, development, and delivery.
• Support data accessibility initiatives that enable faster, more informed decision-making.
  
  

Engineering Excellence

• Contribute to the evolution of the organization's Python development standards, frameworks, and best practices.
• Maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code while adhering to established architecture and design principles.
• Participate in peer reviews and promote high-quality software engineering standards across the team.
• Drive continuous improvements to development tools, shared libraries, and engineering workflows.
  
  

Data Acquisition & Integration

• Develop and maintain integrations with a variety of external data sources and APIs.
• Build and enhance web data collection processes using modern extraction and automation technologies.
• Support the acquisition, transformation, and storage of large-scale datasets used throughout the business.
• Monitor and improve data delivery processes to ensure reliability and performance.
  
  

Global Team Collaboration

• Work closely with distributed engineering and business teams across multiple regions.
• Contribute to technical discussions, architecture reviews, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Help drive consistency and standardization across the broader Python engineering community.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience using Python in enterprise environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale data engineering solutions.
• Demonstrated success building and maintaining complex data pipelines and data integration platforms.
• Experience working with relational databases, Oracle databases, and PL/SQL development.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, software design patterns, and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience gathering technical requirements and delivering solutions in Agile or Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with modern software development practices including source control, peer reviews, issue tracking, and CI/CD workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Advanced Python development expertise.
• Data engineering, ETL, and data integration experience.
• Experience working with libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
• Web data extraction and automation experience utilizing technologies such as Requests, Beautiful Soup, Selenium, or similar tools.
• Oracle database development and PL/SQL programming.
• Strong understanding of scalable application design and enterprise architecture principles.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within commodities trading, energy markets, financial services, or related analytical industries.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience supporting data science, quantitative research, or advanced analytics initiatives.
