About the Role:
Skylight Codeworks is on the lookout for a skilled and driven Python Django Developer to become part of our growing tech team in Lahore. The ideal professional will have solid expertise in backend development, specializing in Django and Django REST Framework, while being proficient in AWS services, CI/CD automation, and payment gateway integrations such as Stripe and PayPal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, scale, and maintain backend systems using Python, Django, and DRF (Django REST Framework).
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for seamless integration with web and mobile platforms.
• Integrate third-party APIs and SDKs, particularly payment systems (Stripe, PayPal).
• Collaborate closely with frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver high-quality applications.
• Optimize backend services for speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and technical documentation.
• Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments using modern tools.
• Deploy, monitor, and manage applications on AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
• Handle and maintain PostgreSQL databases on AWS RDS for performance and data consistency.
• Utilize Python libraries (e.g., NumPy) for advanced data manipulation and processing.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional experience in Python and Django development.
• Deep understanding of Django REST Framework for building RESTful services.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL or MySQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of payment gateway integrations (Stripe, PayPal).
• Experience working with external APIs and SDKs.
• Practical experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
• Solid hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
• Comfortable with Git and standard version control workflows.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills (Plus Points):

• Knowledge of Docker or other containerization tools.
• Experience with Celery, Redis, or other asynchronous task managers.
• Understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with ETL and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow).
