QA Returns Specialist - 1st Shift

The Quality Returns Specialist is responsible for all returns and designated as the QA contact for the warehouse facility. This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager with a dotted line to the Distribution Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Inspects and determines acceptability of all returned materials.
  • Handles inventory transactions for all returned materials and releases quarantines for returns when needed.
  • Maintains all returns and other quality records in an orderly manner for audit purposes.
  • Works with the Sales Team to obtain RA numbers for returned product.
  • Works with the Distribution Team to manage shipments going in or out that are related to Returns.
  • Acts as the QA Inspector designated for the facility for any quality needs.
  • Pull down and verify product in 630 inventories for quality concerns as needed.
  • Assists with samples from the warehouse as needed.
  • Assembles and prepare pallets of products for the outlet stores in NY. Coordinates shipments with QA/Merchandizing and shipping.
  • Coordinates activities for Distribution associates temporarily assigned to help handle larger jobs/projects.
  • Conducts all facility walk through inspections in accordance with SOP’s and keeps appropriate records for audit purposes.
  • Coordinates corrective action on findings from facility inspection issues with Distribution Manager and Facilities.
  • Inspects and signs off all records and shipping/receiving/sanitation records and books requiring QA validation at 630.
  • Pulls all temperature data recorders from 630 and 777, and downloads collected data each month. Prints all temperature trending and maintains records for audits. Reports out of tolerance conditions.
  • Keeps data collector map current and rotates collectors through NY for calibration. Contacts NY when due for replacements
  • Creates and maintains destruction logs and returns logs.
  • Reviews and signs off Pest Control receipts with the pest control inspector during visits. Coordinates corrective action with facilities and Distribution Manager.
  • Enforce GMP’s and promote quality as the designated Quality Representative at 630
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree is preferred but not required.
  • This position requires the candidate to be very autonomous and self-driven.
  • Must have a passion for being very organized and maintaining order.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be comfortable to ascend in a forklift cage to obtain data collectors.
  • Computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office is required.
  • 5 years’ experience in quality assurance or in a manufacturing setting is required
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and organization skills
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training
Role’s Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish)..
  • Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including bending, twisting, and standing for up to 8 hours.
