- Ensure busbars are installed per IFC drawings, approved shop drawings, manufacturer manuals, and project specifications.
- Check alignment, straightness, clearances, routing, and mechanical integrity.
2. Mechanical Support & Assembly Verification
- Inspect busbar support systems including brackets, hangers, cleats, suspensions, and seismic supports where applicable.
- Ensure support spacing, torqueing, and structural anchoring meet project requirements.
- Verify proper enclosure assembly, phase sequence, and joint integrity.
3. Insulation, Earthing & Continuity
- Inspect busbar joint insulation kits, protective covers, and IP-rated enclosures.
- Verify proper earthing/bonding of busbars, tap-off boxes, and supports as per standards.
- Confirm continuity and bonding path integrity in preparation for testing and energization.
4. Jointing, Fastening & Interfaces
- Monitor and verify torqueing of busbar joints as per manufacturer torque schedules.
- Ensure correct installation of joint packs, contact surfaces, and thermal expansion allowances.
- Confirm correct installation of tap-off units, breakers, and downstream feeder interfaces.
5. Pre-Commissioning Readiness
- Verify busbar systems are ready for electrical and commissioning checks including:
- Insulation resistance (IR) testing
- Continuity and polarity checks
- Mechanical tightness and enclosure integrity
- Earthing continuity validation
- Ensure busbar routes are clean, sealed, and safely accessible before energization.
6. QA/QC Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain documents including:
- Work Inspection Requests (WIRs)
