QA/QC Civil Engineer

Job Summary

The QA/QC Civil Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all civil construction activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and contract requirements. The role focuses on inspection, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of construction quality.

Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance (QA)

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP)
• Prepare and review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Procedures
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards (ASTM, BS, ACI, ISO, etc.)
• Conduct internal quality audits and coordinate external audits
• Monitor subcontractor quality systems and performance

Quality Control (QC)

• Inspect civil works such as:
• Earthworks and excavation
• Concrete works (formwork, reinforcement, pouring, curing)
• Structural works
• Finishing works
• Conduct and witness material and field tests (concrete, soil, aggregates, steel, etc.)
• Raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and follow up on corrective/preventive actions
• Verify site activities against approved drawings and specifications
• Maintain records of inspections, tests, approvals, and rejections

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with construction, consultants, and clients on quality matters
• Review material submittals and shop drawings
• Prepare quality reports, inspection reports, and handover documentation
• Support project close-out and final quality dossiers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Certification in QA/QC

Experience

• 8–10 years of experience in civil construction projects
• Experience in buildings, infrastructure, roads, bridges, or industrial projects (project-dependent)

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of civil construction standards and codes
• Excellent inspection and documentation skills
• Familiar with laboratory and field testing procedures
• Good communication and coordination abilities
• Proficient in MS Office and quality documentation systems

Working Conditions

• Site-based role
• May require extended working hours depending on project schedule
