Job Roles and Responsibilities:
- Will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Project Quality Plan.
- He reports directly to the Project QA/QC Manager / Contractor’s Main Office– QA/AC Manager (part-time) and to the Consultant.
- He has the authority to accept or reject the Contractor’s work and material if not as per the approved submittal and method statement. He conducts inspections and follow-up the required corrective actions.
- Report findings of inspection and test and identify non-conformities.
- Conducts phased inspections (preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections);
- Prepares, controls and distributes Work Inspections, Inspection and Test plans, and Checklists.
- Closely monitor site activities and fully coordinate with Project Engineers on a daily basis
- Issuing NCRs in case of non-conformity;
- Coordinate with other staff in closing issued NCRs;
- Conducts Inspection as per the ITP;
- Report findings of inspection and test and identify non-conformities;
- Check materials and equipment as delivered on site and ensure its compliance with approved materials and specification;
- Conducts any off-site inspection of supply items, if required.
- Coordinates with storekeeper for materials delivered and for proper storage.
- Maintains records of all QA/QC activities on site (i.e. earthwork, concrete work, steel erection, etc.)
- Monitor and check revision status of drawings used on site by Construction Team including subcontractor to ensure that no superseded drawings are at point of use;
- Monitor the calibration of all the measuring and testing equipment used at site and submit to the consultant if necessary.
- Receiving inspection and testing of fresh concrete and coordination with test laboratory for sampling and testing; and Monitor the quality of concrete received.
- Discuss the results of the audits with auditees;
- Assist auditees in arriving at recommended corrective/preventive action.
- Supervise the QA/QC Inspectors on site. · Follow up snagging and de – snagging. · Monitoring the Document Controller at the project & to report on weekly basis in the absence of Sr. QA/QC and/or Project QA/QC Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, a Master’s degree is preferred;
- ISO training is required and training as Lead Auditor in ISO 9001 and any of the 3 ISO
- standards is preferable (14001, 18001);
- Advanced knowledge of construction industry best practices, regulatory agency
- requirements, and construction industry standards.
- Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, superiors/managers, clients and other external contacts;
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, proficiency in Arabic
- language is an additional skill
- 5 years or more of experience in the field of quality control and quality assurance.
