QA/QC Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Inspection (QC)

• Daily Site Inspection: Perform and document daily inspections of all ongoing civil and structural activities (e.g., excavation, formwork, reinforcement, concreting, masonry, finishing works).
• Inspection & Test Plans (ITP): Execute inspections and tests as per the approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Method Statements.
• Material Inspection: Inspect all incoming construction materials (e.g., cement, steel, aggregates, submittals, blocks) against the approved material submittals and specifications, ensuring proper storage.
• Testing Coordination: Coordinate and witness all required field and laboratory material tests (e.g., concrete cube tests, rebar tensile tests, soil compaction tests) with the third-party testing agency.
• Non-Conformance: Raise, document, and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for any deviations from the specified quality standards, and follow up on corrective actions until closure.

Quality Assurance & Documentation (QA)

• QMS Implementation: Ensure effective implementation of the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Quality Management System (QMS) across the site.
• Documentation Management: Prepare, control, and maintain all QA/QC documentation, including Inspection Request (IR) logs, test results, calibration certificates, and material approvals.
• Submittal Review: Review and comment on contractor/sub-contractor Method Statements, Material Submittals, and ITPs before final submission to the Consultant/Client.
• Audit Management: Participate in and support internal and external quality audits (e.g., ISO 9001), ensuring all documentation is ready and processes are compliant.
• Handover Documentation: Ensure all quality records are compiled and completed for the final handover to the client (i.e., the "As-Built" Quality Turnover Dossier).

Communication & Compliance

• Liaise and coordinate with the Client's Representative or Consultant for all site inspections and quality matters.
• Work collaboratively with Site Engineers and Subcontractors to address and resolve quality-related issues promptly.
• Provide training and guidance to site staff on project quality standards and best practices.
• Ensure all work processes and records are compliant with all relevant UAE building codes and regulatory requirements.
