QA/QC Engineer

Duration : 6 Months

Location : Ras Laffan

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing the project Quality Management System (QMS) across all phases of construction and commissioning. The role requires daily on-site presence at Ras Laffan, close coordination with QE representatives, third-party inspectors, and sub-contractors to ensure that all materials, workmanship, and completed works meet specified quality requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Diploma holders with relevant certifications and experience will also be considered.

Experience

• Up to 5 years of QA/QC experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or LNG construction sector.

• Prior experience working in Ras Laffan Industrial City or on QatarEnergy-regulated projects is a strong advantage.

• Hands-on experience with inspection of civil works, piping, structural steel, mechanical equipment, and/or electrical/instrumentation systems.

• Familiarity with QE project quality standards, specifications, and approval processes.

Certifications (Preferred)

• CSWIP 3.1 / AWS CWI – Welding Inspector Certification

• ASNT Level II – Non-Destructive Testing (RT, UT, MT, PT)

• ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor

• IRCA / CQI – Quality Auditor Certification

• First Aid Certificate

Technical Competencies

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and specifications.

• Working knowledge of international standards: ASME B31.3, API 650/620, AWS D1.1, ISO 3834, NACE, SSPC.

• Familiarity with NDT methods and interpretation of reports.

• Experience with document control systems and quality management software (e.g., ACONEX, EDMS, Procore).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and correspondence.
