QA/QC Engineer (Civil)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior QA/QC Engineer (Civil) to lead all quality assurance and quality control activities for our building construction projects in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-rise residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust quality systems to ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all QA/QC activities for multiple building construction projects from mobilization to final handover.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and QA/QC procedures.
• Establish and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001 standards and company procedures.
• Review contract documents, project specifications, approved drawings, and material submittals to ensure full compliance.
• Supervise and mentor QA/QC Engineers, QA/QC Inspectors, and site quality staff.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Consultants, Clients, and Subcontractors on all quality matters.
• Review and approve Work Inspection Requests (WIR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), Requests for Information (RFI), and quality reports.
• Conduct and witness inspections for all civil works, including excavation, foundations, concrete works, waterproofing, block work, plastering, finishes, and external works.
• Ensure all materials and workmanship comply with approved samples, specifications, and standards such as ASTM, BS, and ACI.
• Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and Preventive Actions, ensuring timely close-out.
• Investigate recurring quality issues and implement corrective measures to reduce rework and project delays.
• Coordinate with approved testing laboratories and review all material and field test reports.
• Conduct internal quality audits and management reviews, recommending improvements to quality systems and procedures.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure strict adherence to approved method statements and quality requirements.
• Lead snagging, de-snagging, and final quality inspections prior to project handover.
• Prepare and review as-built records, warranties, operation manuals, and turnover dossiers.
• Report quality performance, major issues, and recommendations directly to senior management.
• Promote a strong quality culture and continuous improvement throughout all project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10–15+ years of experience in building construction projects.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE/GCC experience in a senior QA/QC role.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM, BS, ACI, and UAE Municipality standards.
• Proven experience in high-rise towers, villas, and commercial buildings.
• Excellent knowledge of QA/QC documentation and reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid UAE Driving License is an advantage.
