QA/QC Engineer - Facade

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

You will be responsible for monitoring contractor and subcontractor compliance with approved façade designs, specifications, and industry standards, and will serve as a key quality gatekeeper throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Oversight & Supervision

  • Monitor and inspect façade installation works on-site, ensuring adherence to approved shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
  • Review and verify contractor’s Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and method statements related to façade activities.
  • Witness and verify on-site tests for façade performance (e.g. watertightness, alignment, pull-out tests, etc.).
  • Conduct surveillance inspections during installation and report any deviations or non-conformities.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Review QA/QC documentation submitted by the contractor including MIRs, WIRs, NCRs, test reports, and as-built drawings.
  • Maintain clear and concise daily site reports and quality records related to façade works.
  • Participate in weekly QA/QC coordination meetings and site walks with contractors and consultants.

Coordination & Interface

  • Interface between main contractor, façade subcontractors, consultants, and the client's project team to ensure compliance and smooth coordination.
  • Support the client's interest in enforcing project quality standards while resolving façade-related technical issues on-site.
  • Ensure that the façade contractor is complying with local authority regulations (e.g. DM, Trakhees) and international façade standards (ASTM, BS EN, AAMA).

Corrective & Preventive Measures

  • Review and follow up on non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions by contractors.
  • Identify potential quality risks early and recommend mitigation measures to the Project Manager or QA/QC Lead.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 6–10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3–5 years in a client-side or consultant QA/QC role on façade works.
  • Strong experience with aluminium curtain walls, ACP cladding, glazing systems, and façade anchorage/fixing details.
  • Familiarity with international façade testing standards and local UAE codes/regulations.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC systems such as ISO 9001 is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical reporting and contractor coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
