QA/QC Engineer with Mechanical Background , Experience in ADNOC Projects
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance & Planning: Develop, implement, and maintain a project-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plan. This includes preparing and submitting all required QA/QC documentation, such as Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and material submittals.
- Inspection & Testing: Conduct and oversee all site inspection activities for mechanical systems, including piping, fittings, pumps, valves, and rotating equipment. This involves witnessing and signing off on inspections, hydrostatic tests, and non-destructive testing (NDT) such as radiography (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), and magnetic particle inspection (MPI).
- Documentation Control: Maintain a comprehensive and organized QA/QC dossier for each project. This includes tracking and controlling all relevant documents, such as material test certificates, welding procedures (WPS), welder qualifications (WPQ/WQR), inspection reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all work is executed in strict accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, and international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO, ADNOC specifications). Review and approve subcontractor and vendor quality plans and procedures.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports. Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, third-party inspectors, and cross-functional teams to address and resolve any quality-related issues or non-conformances in a timely manner.
- Site Management: Monitor the storage and handling of materials to prevent damage and ensure correct identification and traceability. Provide on-site technical support and guidance to the project team and contractors regarding quality requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar QA/QC role, with a focus on mechanical, piping, and welding in the Oil & Gas or industrial sector. Experience with EPC contractors is highly preferred.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CSWIP 3.1/3.2, ASNT Level II, and/or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor are a significant advantage.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, and welding processes. Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.1, ASME Section IX).
- Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
