QA/QC Engineer – Steel Fabrication & Modular Construction

MODULARZ is a rapidly growing modular construction company specializing in prefabricated buildings, modular offices, containerized buildings, steel structures, light gauge steel framing (LGS), and industrial modular solutions for major clients in Qatar.

We are seeking a practical, hands-on QA/QC Engineer with a strong steel fabrication background to join our team and ensure the highest standards of quality throughout fabrication, assembly, and site installation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement project QA/QC procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and quality checklists.
• Perform inspections of structural steel fabrication, welding, fit-up, and assembly works.
• Verify material compliance, traceability, and approved specifications.
• Conduct dimensional inspections of fabricated steel structures and modular units.
• Monitor welding activities and ensure compliance with approved WPS and project requirements.
• Coordinate and witness NDT activities when required.
• Inspect modular building fabrication, container modifications, and steel framing works.
• Verify installation quality of sandwich panels, doors, windows, ceilings, finishes, and MEP services.
• Conduct incoming material inspections and final pre-delivery inspections.
• Prepare and maintain quality records, inspection reports, NCRs, and corrective action reports.
• Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors.
• Support project handover and close-out documentation.

Requirements

Mandatory

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in steel fabrication.
• Strong understanding of welding inspections and structural steel fabrication.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and construction drawings.
• Good knowledge of inspection procedures and quality documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting.

Preferred

• Experience in modular buildings, portable cabins, container conversions, or prefabricated construction.
• Experience with sandwich panel systems and light gauge steel framing.
• CSWIP, AWS-CWI, BGAS, NACE, or ISO 9001 certifications.
• Experience working with Qatar Energy, oil & gas, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
