We are seeking a highly skilled QA/QC Manager to join our dynamic team in the construction and building sector. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires a thorough understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes, along with strong leadership and communication skills. As a QA/QC Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement comprehensive quality management systems and policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction processes, materials, and finished products to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
  3. Lead and mentor a team of quality control inspectors, providing guidance and training on quality assurance practices.
  4. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify and resolve quality-related issues promptly and effectively.
  5. Prepare detailed reports and documentation on quality metrics, inspections, and audits for internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Review and approve quality control plans and procedures submitted by subcontractors and suppliers.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quality assurance and control.
  8. Facilitate quality improvement initiatives and promote a culture of quality and safety within the organization.
  9. Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and standards.
  10. Manage non-conformance reports and corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
Preferred Candidate
  1. Proven experience as a QA/QC Manager in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of quality management systems.
  2. Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving quality objectives.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective solutions.
  4. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey quality standards and expectations to diverse stakeholders.
  5. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality standards are maintained.
  6. In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including ISO standards, ASTM, and other relevant codes.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
  8. Proficiency in quality management software and tools for tracking and reporting quality metrics.
  9. Strong commitment to safety and quality, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
  10. Relevant certifications such as CQI-IRCA QMS lead auditor ISO 9001:2015 are highly desirable.
Skills
  • Quality Management: A deep understanding of quality management principles and practices is essential. This includes knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes, as well as relevant standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Civil, Agricultural, or Landscape Architecture Expertise: A background in civil, agricultural, or landscape architecture engineering is preferred, providing the technical knowledge necessary for overseeing quality in construction projects.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills are necessary to manage and mentor a team of quality control inspectors, fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital for conveying quality standards and expectations to various stakeholders, including project managers and subcontractors.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities are required to assess quality metrics, identify trends, and implement effective solutions to quality-related problems.
  • Experience with PIF Projects: Familiarity with Public Investment Fund (PIF) projects is an asset, as it indicates experience with high-profile and complex construction undertakings.
