Food Safety Manager

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

The Food Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring that food and food handling practices follow safety, quality and hygiene standards.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Supervise and provide leadership and mentorship to the food safety teams and function across all Elaf Group facilities. This includes regular reporting on performance, compliance, and emerging issues to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of food establishments to assess and enforce compliance with food safety standards.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate food handlers and kitchen staff on food safety practices, hygiene, and sanitation.
  • Implement and monitor the HACCP system to identify, prevent, and control food safety hazards.
  • Develop and implement protocols for responding to food safety incidents.
  • Maintain accurate records of food safety inspections, audits, and training sessions.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential food safety hazards and recommend preventive measures.
  • Stay informed about changes in food safety regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Investigate cases of foodborne illnesses, track the source, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Establish and enforce standards for food suppliers to ensure the quality and safety of ingredients used in food preparation.
  • Develop and implement procedures for managing and preventing allergen contamination in food establishments.
  • Monitor and enforce proper temperature control measures for food storage, handling, and transportation.
  • Implement traceability systems to track the origin and movement of food products throughout the supply chain.
  • Analyze data related to food safety performance.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, Public Health, or related fields
  • High Proficiency Level in English
  • High Computer Skills


Preferred Certifications

  • HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
  • Highfields Food Safety - Level 4
  • ISO 22000 Food Safety Lead Auditor
