Role Overview
The QA/QC Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) for Oil & Gas projects. The role ensures that all engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, international standards, client requirements, and applicable codes. The QA/QC Manager will lead QA/QC teams, coordinate with project, construction, HSE, and client representatives, and ensure quality objectives are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, implement, and maintain the project Quality Management System in line with ISO standards and client requirements.
- Prepare and manage Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), procedures, and method statements.
- Lead and supervise QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and discipline-specific QC teams.
- Ensure all construction and installation activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and approvals with clients, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies.
- Review and approve material submittals, vendor documents, and inspection reports.
- Monitor site activities and conduct regular quality inspections and audits.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Ensure proper documentation, records, and handover dossiers are prepared and maintained.
- Coordinate with HSE, engineering, and construction teams to ensure quality and safety alignment.
- Support internal and external audits and client quality reviews.
- Provide regular quality reports, dashboards, and progress updates to project management.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline).
Experience:
- Minimum 8–12 years of QA/QC experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, or large industrial projects.
- At least 3–5 years in a QA/QC Manager or senior QA/QC leadership role.
- Prior experience working in Qatar or the GCC region is preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (API, ASME, ASTM, AWS, ISO, etc.).
- Experience with inspections, testing, welding, piping, structural, and equipment quality control.
- Understanding of project documentation, turnover, and handover requirements.
- Knowledge of QA/QC requirements related to HSE is an advantage.
Certifications (Preferred):
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- CSWIP / AWS / NDT Level II (as applicable)
- Any relevant QA/QC or project quality certifications
