QA/QC Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Mechanical Engineer to oversee and ensure quality control compliance for mechanical works on a short-term project (3 months, extendable based on project requirements). The candidate will be responsible for implementing quality assurance procedures, conducting inspections, and ensuring all mechanical installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain Project Quality Plan and QA/QC procedures.
• Conduct inspections of mechanical works including piping, HVAC, equipment installation, and structural components.
• Review and approve material submittals, method statements, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
• Perform incoming material inspections and verify compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, and clients regarding quality-related matters.
• Ensure all mechanical works comply with project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation, reports, and inspection records.
• Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to approved procedures and drawings.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Support testing and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in QA/QC for mechanical works.
• Experience in construction, MEP, oil & gas, or industrial projects preferred (customize as needed).
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, etc., if applicable).
• Familiar with QA/QC documentation and reporting systems.
• Proficient in MS Office and engineering documentation tools.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
