Job Description:
Overview
We are seeking an experienced
QA/QC Site Manager
to support a
greenfield simple‐cycle combustion turbine project
involving the construction of two turbine units. This role serves as the
on‐site quality subject matter expert
, ensuring EPC contractors and vendors comply with applicable codes, standards, and owner quality requirements.
You will partner closely with EPC leadership, inspectors, and project teams across
civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
, providing critical oversight throughout construction, testing, commissioning, and project closeout.
Responsibilities
Quality Oversight & Compliance
-
Serve as the on‐site QA/QC lead for a combustion turbine construction project
-
Review and validate EPC quality programs, procedures, and quality management systems
-
Review and approve
Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
, including hold points and witness points
-
Ensure compliance with
ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3
for power and process piping
-
Verify test plans align with project specifications, codes, and standards
Field Auditing & Inspections
-
Conduct
field inspections, audits, and site walks
to ensure contractor compliance
-
Verify adherence to drawings, specifications, and quality procedures
-
Monitor work of inspectors and ensure proper documentation and inspection coverage

Oversee and/or witness:
-
Welding activities and code compliance
-
Hydrostatic and pressure testing
-
Rotating equipment installation
-
Piping fabrication and installation
Documentation & Turnover
-
Review and validate turnover documentation packages for completeness and accuracy
-
Ensure traceability and documentation meet project closeout requirements
-
Support resolution of non‐conformances and quality issues
-
Maintain detailed QA/QC records, reports, and logs using project systems and Microsoft Office tools
Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership
-
Coordinate with EPC quality managers, construction teams, inspectors, and vendors
-
Provide technical expertise on codes, standards, and engineering drawings
-
Influence and guide teams through
non‐authoritative leadership
-
Collaborate with project leadership and contractors to ensure successful execution
Required Qualifications
Experience
-
5–7+ years of QA/QC experience
on large construction, industrial, or power generation projects
-
Experience in
welding oversight and piping QA/QC
(shop and field)
-
Experience witnessing
hydro/pressure testing and rotating equipment installation
-
Background in roles such as QA/QC Manager, Quality Engineer, or Quality Representative
Technical Skills
-
Strong knowledge of
ASME B31.1 (Power Piping)
and
ASME B31.3 (Process Piping)
-
Experience with quality audits, surveillance, and inspection processes
-
Proficiency with
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
-
Ability to learn and use project‐specific tools and systems

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
-
ASNT VT2 certification

Familiarity with
API and/or ACI standards

Experience with
civil/concrete inspections
(rebar, formwork, pours)

Experience working with major EPC firms
-
Prior experience on
combustion turbine or power generation projects
-
Experience as an
owner’s representative or quality engineer
