QA / TESTING ENGINEER

Work Hours: Flexible scheduling (9 AM - 5 PM EST, flexible based on project hours)
Estimated Hours: 60 hours/month

About the Project
Harp Technologies is developing a complex multi-mode device requiring rigorous testing across hardware interfaces, software features, and cross-platform compatibility (Android/Windows/Linux).

Role Overview
We need a QA/Testing Engineer to establish automated testing frameworks, validate hardware-software integration, and ensure performance benchmarks are met across all prototype iterations.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop automated test suites for firmware and software components
- Create validation protocols for display quality (color accuracy, latency, VRR)
- Test multi-mode operation (passive/active/supplemental)
- Validate USB-C/Thunderbolt connectivity and charging protocols
- Perform compatibility testing with Android/Windows/Linux devices
- Execute performance checks (frame rates, upscaling, AI features)
- Document bugs and work with development team on reproduction
- Create test reports and quality metrics

Key Deliverables
- Automated test setup and frameworks
- Test case documentation for all features
- Validation reports for prototype milestones
- Performance benchmark results
- Bug tracking and regression test suites
- Quality assurance documentation

Required Qualifications
- 2+ years QA/testing experience in hardware-software products
- Experience with test automation frameworks (pytest, Robot Framework, or similar)
- Knowledge of hardware testing methodologies
- Understanding of display technology (resolution, refresh rate, color accuracy)
- Experience with bug tracking systems (Jira, Bugzilla)
- Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash)

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing embedded Linux systems
- Knowledge of USB-C/Thunderbolt protocols
- Display calibration and color measurement tools
- Android/Windows compatibility testing experience
- Gaming peripheral testing background
- Automated UI testing experience (Selenium, Appium)

Technical Environment
Python, Pytest, Robot Framework, Jira, Git, Linux command line, Android Debug Bridge (ADB).
