QC In-process Inspector

Overview: ANCO is a family owned and operated metal fabrication company located in Shelton, CT. ANCO has an immediate opening for a QC In-process Inspector in support of our Quality Control Department. The right individual to fill this role will be highly energetic with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Description: This is a full-time day position responsible for in-process inspection of our fabricated parts which includes, but is not limited to the inspection of manufactured/fabricated parts and weldments.

Position Responsibilities

Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment providing detail oriented parts and product inspection.
Support various in-process part inspection based upon detailed drawings and associated inspection documents.
Generate detail oriented QDR (Quality Discrepancy Reports) for all non-conforming products.
Work with all manufacturing and production departments to clearly and precisely define non-conformance issues.
Perform and support all quality related activities as assigned.

Position Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience in an in-process inspection role, preferably within a metal fabrication environment.
Working knowledge of mechanical inspection processes and gauges. (Micrometer, Vernier, Height & Depth Gauges, Go-NoGo Thread Gauges, Plug Gauges, etc.)
Knowledge of weld symbols and associated inspection techniques.
Ability to read and interpret multi-page fabrication drawings.
Working knowledge of CMM inspection and programming a plus
Working knowledge of weld inspections and current Weld Inspector Certification a plus.
