Job Summary:

We are seeking a CSWIP 3.2.2 Certified QC Inspector – Welding to oversee and ensure quality compliance of all fabrication and welding activities carried out in the fabrication workshop, in accordance with approved drawings, WPS, client specifications, and applicable international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and monitor fabrication and welding activities in the workshop as per approved WPS, ITP, QCP, and fabrication drawings.
  • Perform visual inspection (VT) of materials, joint fit-up, welding, and completed welds.
  • Verify welder qualifications (WPQ) and ensure compliance with approved procedures.
  • Ensure proper control, storage, baking, and traceability of welding consumables.
  • Check material identification, heat numbers, and traceability throughout fabrication stages.
  • Monitor preheat, inter-pass temperature, and post-weld requirements.
  • Coordinate and witness NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT) within the workshop.
  • Review and verify NDT reports against applicable acceptance criteria.
  • Raise NCRs, follow up corrective actions, and ensure closure.
  • Maintain weld maps, inspection reports, NDT logs, and quality dossiers.
  • Liaise with client inspectors, third-party agencies, and production teams.
  • Support internal and external quality audits related to fabrication activities.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • CSWIP 3.2.2 Welding Inspector Certification – Mandatory
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent
  • Additional NDT Level II certifications are an advantage

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Welding QC Inspector in a fabrication workshop
  • Experience in piping, structural steel, skids, tanks, pressure parts fabrication
  • Exposure to Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Industrial fabrication projects preferred

Technical Knowledge:

  • Welding processes: SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW
  • Codes & Standards: ASME Sec IX, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, API, ISO
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong inspection, documentation, and reporting skills
  • Good coordination with workshop production teams
  • Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently
