We are looking for our next QC Lab Analyst within our Quality Control team. The QC Lab Analyst will be responsible for performing routine and complex quality control tests to ensure that products meet defined specifications. This role involves working with various laboratory instruments, conducting validation studies, and supporting 24/7 Mini-Plant operations through rotating swing shifts.
This position is located in Keokuk, IA.
Compensation:
The current hourly comp for this role is estimated to be $27/hourly. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform quality control tests using lab instruments such as spectrophotometers, HPLC, and pH meters.
- Follow and apply standard laboratory operating procedures for qualitative and quantitative assays.
- Conduct calibration of analytical instruments and routine wet-chemistry and instrumental analysis on in-process and final products.
- Execute validation studies and manage retained samples in accordance with established SOPs.
- Maintain and troubleshoot basic lab equipment and instrumentation as needed.
- Provide laboratory coverage on a rotating swing-shift schedule to support 24/7 Mini-Plant operations.
- Work cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Mini-Plants, Customer Care, Shipping, and external vendors.
What You’ll Need:
Education:
- BS Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency.
- Strong problem solving, innovation, and analytical skills.
Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable)
- This position does not have direct reports.
Work Environment
- This role spends approximately 50% of the time in a laboratory/office environment and 50% in a plant setting.
- Work environments may include high places, extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, and areas with moving equipment and chemical/biological exposure.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, and work in hot, cold, or loud environments.
- Driving automotive equipment (e.g., golf cart) may be required.
- Employee must be able to wear a respirator.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time 8-hour Rotating swing-shift schedule.
Business Travel:
- Travel is not a regular requirement for this role.
