QC Mechanical Equipment Inspector

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality inspections for mechanical equipment and fabricated items including vessels, skids, piping components, tanks, and rotating/static equipment
  • Verify compliance with approved drawings, ITPs, QCPs, specifications, and applicable codes/standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, etc.)
  • Conduct inspections during fabrication, welding, NDT, fit up, dimensional checks, hydrostatic testing, and final acceptance
  • Review and verify material traceability, MTCs, welding records, WPS/PQR, and welder qualifications
  • Coordinate with fabrication yards, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve quality issues
  • Raise and follow up NCRs, observations, and corrective actions
  • Witness and monitor FAT, mechanical tests, and inspection hold points as per ITP
  • Promote strict adherence to HSE and QA/QC procedures
Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a QC Mechanical Equipment Inspector in EPC oil & gas projects
  • Hands on experience in fabrication yards and vendor shops
  • Strong background in mechanical equipment fabrication inspection

Education / Training / Certifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • ISO Internal Auditor Certificate
  • Fabrication and welding inspection
  • Static & rotating equipment knowledge
  • Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Control Procedures (QCPs)
  • Strong document review and reporting skills
