Job Purpose:

To ensure that yarn and fabric products meet required quality standards through inspection, testing, and process control at various production stages — from raw material to finished goods.

Key Responsibilities:Yarn Quality Control:

- Inspect incoming raw materials (cotton, polyester, blends, etc.) for contamination, count, and moisture.- Conduct regular yarn tests, including count, strength, CSP, elongation, twist, evenness (U%, CV%), and hairiness using lab equipment.- Maintain and calibrate testing instruments such as Uster Tester, Twist Tester, and Strength Tester.- Monitor spinning parameters and machine settings to ensure consistency in yarn quality.- Record and analyze test results to identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to address recurring quality issues.

Fabric Quality Control:

- Inspect grey and finished fabrics for defects such as shade variation, holes, stains, slubs, and weaving faults.- Measure fabric parameters such as GSM, width, shrinkage, tensile strength, color fastness, and tear strength.- Conduct inline and final inspections using 4-Point System or 10-Point System as per standard procedures.- Ensure compliance with buyer quality standards and maintain inspection reports.- Follow up with the dyeing, finishing, and processing departments to resolve quality concerns.

Documentation & Reporting:

- Maintain daily inspection and test reports for yarn and fabric quality.- Prepare quality trend analysis and submit periodic quality performance reports.- Ensure traceability of batches and maintain proper sample retention.

Continuous Improvement:

- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities.- Support continuous improvement projects to reduce defects and enhance product quality.- Conduct training sessions for production and inspection staff on quality awareness.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- % Yarn/Fabric Rejection Rate- Customer Complaint Ratio- On-Time Inspection Report Submission- Test Accuracy and Calibration Compliance- Process Deviation Reduction Rate

Qualifications & Experience:

- Education: Diploma / B.Tech / B.Sc. in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, or related field.

- Experience: 2–5 years in QC department of spinning, weaving, or processing unit,

- Knowledge of textile testing standards (ASTM, ISO, AATCC)

- Familiar with Uster and other lab testing instruments

- Strong observation, analytical, and reporting skills
