Position Overview:

The QC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all quality control activities related to welding, fabrication, and inspection processes to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and hands-on supervision to ensure product quality and compliance with client and international requirements.

The ideal candidate must hold a valid CSWIP 3.2.2 Senior Welding Inspector certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate QC Inspectors in daily inspection activities for welding, NDT, dimensional checks, and material verification.
  • Ensure that all works are performed in accordance with approved procedures, standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, API, etc.), and project specifications.
  • Review and approve welding procedures (WPS, PQR, WPQ) and ensure welders’ qualifications are up to date.
  • Monitor welding operations to verify compliance with WPS and ensure correct consumables, parameters, and techniques are used.
  • Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and project teams to address and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Conduct fit-up, visual, and final inspections before offering for client or third-party review.
  • Manage and maintain all quality documentation, including inspection reports, calibration records, and traceability logs.
  • Coordinate NDT activities and ensure results are properly reviewed and recorded.
  • Lead or participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior QC inspectors.
  • Ensure all non-conformances are recorded, investigated, and closed out through corrective and preventive actions.
  • Promote a strong quality culture across all project phases.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Mandatory: CSWIP 3.2.2 Senior Welding Inspector certification (valid and in-date).
  • Preferred: NDT Level II certification (RT, UT, MT, PT).
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Welding Engineering or equivalent technical field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in QA/QC within fabrication, construction, or oil & gas industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Sound knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW), materials, and codes (ASME, AWS, API, ISO, etc.).
  • Familiar with project quality documentation, ITPs, and inspection procedures.
  • Strong understanding of HSE and quality assurance principles.
