Responsibilities, and Duties
Strategic Leadership & Compliance
Develop and execute a unified QHSE strategy aligned with corporate, regional, and site-specific goals.
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations across all operational sites.
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 28000, ISO 22000).
Serve as Management Representative (MR) for certification audits and integrated management systems.
Develop and implement succession planning and capability building programs for QHSE professionals.
Culture & Organizational Engagement
Champion a zero-harm culture through leadership engagement, awareness campaigns, and behavioral safety programs.
Coach and mentor QHSE Heads across Port & Logistics to foster accountability and continuous improvement.
Lead monthly QHSE committee meetings to review performance and drive strategic initiatives.
Embed a learning culture by encouraging near miss reporting and non-punitive response systems.
Operational Excellence & Risk Management
Conduct root cause and trend analyses to identify systemic risks and improvement opportunities.
Oversee risk assessments, incident investigations (ICAM), and CAPA implementation.
Monitor and analyze QHSE performance metrics (RIFR, LTIFR, near misses) to inform decision-making.
Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship
Lead decarbonization strategy execution and environmental compliance programs.
Ensure emergency preparedness through drills, response planning, and coordination with authorities.
Maintain legal registers and ensure all environmental and safety obligations are met.
Quality Assurance & Systems Integration
Oversee validation of equipment, systems, and processes in line with QHSEMS.
Support ERP and digital transformation projects with QHSE integration.
Ensure readiness for customers and regulatory audits, including food safety and GDP/GMP standards.
Stakeholder & Customer Relations
Represent the organization in regulatory engagements and third-party audits.
Manage customer complaints and ensure timely resolution of QHSE-related issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align QHSE with business objectives.
Budget & Policy Oversight
Job Requirement:
Educational degree is must (Engineering, Science, Pharmacy, or Medicine)
Post Graduate qualification in Safety
NEBOSH Diploma, Lead Auditor Certification
Driving License
Minimum 10 years in QHSE, with 5+ years in senior leadership across high-risk industries
