QHSE Specialist

The position is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by conducting risk assessments, enforcing preventive measures, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Additionally, it ensures adherence to environmental laws, reviews the industry's environmental impact, and develops strategies to minimize or eliminate any negative effects on the company's surroundings.

The main responsibilities include.

  • Identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace, evaluate their severity, and enforce appropriate preventive measures to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Implement safety protocols, procedures, and measures to prevent accidents and injuries. Regularly monitor and audit safety practices to ensure adherence.
  • Review existing health and safety policies to ensure they align with current legislation. Update policies and procedures when necessary to maintain compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety-related occurrences, including accidents or violations. Provide statistical information and analyses to upper management to assist in decision-making and improving safety standards.
  • Proactively observe and intervene in any unsafe acts, processes, or conditions that seem dangerous or unhealthy. Work closely with employees to mitigate risks and prevent injuries.
  • Identify critical processes for the environment, safety at work, identify hazards, estimate risks and evaluate them according to research/study design the most appropriate prevention, protection and control measures in collaboration of the management

Experience, qualifications and skills

  • Minimum of 03 years of relevant experience of environmental safety, conduct risk assessments and safety audits
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 & 45001, Safety Management System
  • NEBOSH IGC
  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
