QI Informaticist & Report Coordinator (Full-Time; 40 hours)

Bridges the gap between technology and various departments within the hospital specific to quality and required governmental and accrediting entities. Applies their expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing various information systems to leverage technology to enhance efficiency, decision-making, and overall outcomes and improve patient safety. Assists in all quality activities, including but not limited to data abstraction, analytics and reporting. Evaluates various applications to ensure current state and will serve as point for all quality data applications. Participates in quality and patient safety projects. Responsibility for report creation, analytics and reporting from Clinical databases including, but not limited to: Premier, ODH, Get with the Guidelines (GWTG), CMS, Altera, Q-Net, Clinect, etc. Supports hospital and department PI projects through report creation and analysis.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in applied technology, or informatics, or similar field.
  • CPHQ certification
  • Master’s Informatics preferred

Experience

  • Three to five years of informatics experience.
  • Two years of recent quality improvement experience
  • Healthcare data analytics experience preferred.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to integrate multiple job tasks and criteria in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of patient and physician information in all aspects of review activities.
  • Ability to effectively summarize, format, and utilize statistical findings for review by medical staff, committees, and administration.
