Job Description
We are looking for a Calibration Technician to assist with the calibration of mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards and assist in formulating calibration standards. This position will be Full-Time and Onsite contract position located Winston Salem, NC . The hours are Hours will be 7am to 3pm.
What You’ll Do
Assist with the calibration of mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment to ensure conformance with established standards
Help formulate calibration standards and assist in developing planned sequences of testing and calibration procedures based on blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and other specifications
Set up standard and special-purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment to NIST Traceable equipment
Maintain laboratory to ISO13485/AS9100 standards
Disassemble instruments and equipment using hand tools, inspecting components for defects
Measure parts for conformity with specifications using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments
Perform calibration of instruments and equipment; manage sending them to external vendors as required
Maintain accurate records of tests and services performed; enter required information into the company's database
Devise formulas, if necessary, to solve problems in measurements and calibrations
Coordinate ordering of equipment or materials as needed
Assist engineers in formulating calibration and evaluation plans and procedures
Assist in designing and fabricating fixtures and tools for production as required
Identify and recommend design, process, and quality enhancements
Ensure safe work practices are employed daily; address and report unsafe behavior or practices and recommend safety improvements to the Supervisor
Follow Standard Operating Procedures, specifications, drawings, or written instructions under cleanroom conditions with a solid understanding of associated GMPs
Assist in drafting and training work instructions
Assist with establishing and promoting lab performance metrics
Lead efforts within the lab regarding preventive maintenance, 5S, waste elimination, and other Lean concepts
Set up and operate production or test equipment in various configurations based on product and performance requirements
Perform other related duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
Required:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
High School Diploma or GED
Steel Toe boots
Proficiency in using a standard assortment of hand tools, fixtures, assembly, and test equipment
Proficient with MS Office Suite to collect, organize, analyze, and report data
Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on quality
Comfortable interacting with employees at all levels; strong communication and customer-friendly skills
Ability to work well within a team
Strong verbal, writing, and listening skills
Experience with cleanroom conditions and associated GMPs
Familiarity with preventive maintenance concepts, 5S, waste elimination, and Lean principles
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc
Ability to lift and move equipment/materials as needed

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
