Quality Assurance Analyst

Role Description

Supplier & Co-Packer Quality Support

  • Review suppliers' Certificates of Analysis (COAs) to ensure compliance with approved specifications
  • Review and document supplier and co-packer GFSI audit reports, with emphasis on major and critical nonconformances 
  • Support verification and validation of food safety programs for SQF and FSMA compliance
  • Track corrective actions and maintain records to support supplier risk assessment and future FSQ audit scheduling
  • Communicate with suppliers and co-packers in a timely manner to follow up on documentation requests, samples, and corrective actions; escalate issues as appropriate
  • Support offsite FSQ facility audits

Retention Samples & Nonconformance Management

  • Manage retention sample program, including receipt, inspection, storage, rotation, tracking and disposal of samples
  • Coordinate product reviews for non-conforming products and materials
  • Manage consumer complaint related samples

Laboratory Analysis & Technical Services Support

• Perform laboratory analyses

  • Accurately document test results and ensure timely notification of TS leadership of out-of-spec results

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct trend analysis of consumer complaints and assist with identifying recurring quality or food safety issues
  • Generate clear, reader-friendly reports and summaries suitable for cross-functional and executive audiences
  • Maintain organized QA records in alignment with company procedures and audit readiness expectations

Systems & Documentation

  • Navigate ERP system (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics Business Central) to run inventory reports by lot and location, and conduct traceability analyses
  • Use ERP data to support retention sample tracking and co-packer follow-up
  • Maintain consumer FAQ documents

Qualifications

•  Bachelor's degree (or coursework toward degree) in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field

•  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

•  Ability to interpret specifications, COAs, and audit reports

•  Clear written and verbal communication skills

•  Familiarity with GFSI schemes (SQF, BRCGS, FSSC 22000)

•  HACCP, PCQI, and/or Internal Auditor certification

•  Basic understanding of food safety principles such as GMPs

•  Experience with ERP systems or inventory management tools

•  Experience with basic laboratory testing methods

•  Strong follow-up and time management skills

•  Ability to escalate issues appropriately

  • Comfortable working with both documentation and hands-on tasks


WORK ENVIRONMENT  Hybrid/on-site corporate environment. Minimum of 3 days a week at Brooklyn office. Up to 30% travel required for supplier and co-packer facility support.


Compensation:

FT position; $80K plus performance bonus
