About the Role
We’re looking for a forward-thinking
Automation Test Engineer
who combines strong quality engineering fundamentals with
hands-on AI tooling proficiency
. You’ll design, build, and scale automation frameworks and help the team accelerate delivery by using AI coding assistants effectively—writing better tests faster, debugging smarter, and raising overall test reliability.
What You’ll Do (Core Responsibilities)
-
Build and maintain
end-to-end UI automation
using
Playwright + TypeScript
(robust, maintainable suites; strong typing; Playwright best practices).
-
Create and evolve
scalable automation frameworks
(Page Object Model, fixtures, utilities, reporters, reusable components).
-
Develop and maintain automated
API test suites
for
REST and GraphQL
(request chaining, schema validation, auth flows, contract testing, CI execution).
-
Support and/or migrate existing
Cypress
component/integration tests alongside Playwright as needed.
-
Integrate automation into
CI/CD pipelines
and improve test execution reliability, reporting, and signal quality.
-
Partner with developers/product/QA to define test strategy, improve coverage, and reduce escaped defects.
-
Use
AI tools daily
to speed up test development, debugging, refactoring, and test data generation (details below).
Required Skills & Experience
Must-have

Playwright + TypeScript (Primary stack):
strong hands-on experience building E2E suites with maintainable patterns.
-
API automation:
proven experience testing REST + GraphQL (auth, schema/contract validation, CI-driven runs).
-
Framework creation:
ability to architect from scratch (POM, fixture layers, utilities, reporting, pipeline integration).
-
Cypress (working knowledge):
able to maintain or migrate suites and understand best-fit use cases.
AI Tooling & Prompting (Mandatory)
You must
actively use AI coding assistants as part of your daily workflow
(not just aware of them):
-
Uses tools such as
Claude / GitHub Copilot / OpenAI Codex
to accelerate coding and testing work.
-
Demonstrates
strong prompting skills
: writes precise, context-rich prompts to generate tests, debug failures, refactor code, and create test data.
-
Comfortable switching between AI tools depending on task fit and output quality.
-
Critically evaluates AI output—knows when to trust, refine, or discard suggestions.
Nice-to-have (Strong Plus)
-
CI/CD experience with tools such as
Jenkins / GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps
.
-
Experience with
test reporting dashboards
, flaky test triage, and stabilization approaches.
-
Experience with
contract testing
, mocks, service virtualization, or performance/accessibility testing.
-
Mentoring or leading testing best practices across teams.
