Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance CMM Technician with strong expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to support precision manufacturing operations. This role is critical in ensuring product compliance with engineering drawings and industry standards, including ASME Y14.5-2018.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), strong blueprint interpretation skills, and a solid understanding of tolerance analysis within aerospace, automotive, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
GD&T & Blueprint Interpretation
- Interpret engineering drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Verify part form, orientation, and location requirements using appropriate inspection techniques.
- Ensure design intent is properly validated during inspection processes.
Inspection & Metrology
- Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Perform dimensional inspections including:
- Position
- Flatness
- Straightness
- Profile
- Perpendicularity
- Angularity
- Runout
- Utilize surface plates, height gauges, and other metrology equipment as required.
- Document and report inspection results clearly and accurately.
Tolerance & Quality Analysis
- Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis to prevent assembly issues.
- Identify non-conformances and collaborate with engineering and production teams on corrective actions.
- Support manufacturing optimization by ensuring processes can consistently achieve required tolerances.
Standardization & Compliance
- Ensure consistent application of ASME Y14.5 standards across departments.
- Maintain quality documentation and inspection records.
- Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Verify part form, orientation, and location requirements using appropriate inspection techniques.
- Ensure design intent is properly validated during inspection processes.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of CMM operation and programming experience.
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2018).
- Experience performing dimensional inspections in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Familiarity with ISO quality standards.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC).

Schedule Hours
- Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Pay: $21.50 - $27.50 per hour
