The Receiving Quality Assurance Inspector works within Nomad’s campus, receiving, inspecting and documenting parts and materials that align to Nomad’s quality management requirements and regularly conducts incoming inspection, documents non-conformances, and maintains quality documentation across all Nomad projects.
Essential Functions / Responsibility:
- Execute Nomad’s incoming inspection procedures.
- Conduct visual inspection of incoming parts/materials.
- Integrate closely with Nomad’s Material Management department.
- Support product returns/replacements due to non-conforming/damaged parts.
- Maintain documentation of all incoming Certificates of Conformance and material certifications.
- Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries.
- Maintain traceability of products, label products, and place them accordingly.
- Handle returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.
- Support Material Review Board meetings.
- Update electronic records and maintain records retention using electronic and hardcopy filing systems.
- Promote and participate in a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.
- The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.
Working Environment:
- Regular interacting with other Nomad departments.
- The work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.
- The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
- The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time, which will be provided.
- There is some exposure to strong odors and fumes.
- All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times in manufacturing areas. The employee will be required to wear provided safety eyewear throughout the performance of their duties.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED. Additional education preferred.
- Experience in demonstrating knowledge, interpretation, and application of quality control practices.
- Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- 45-50 WPM typing with 10-Key (adding machine / calculator)
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must have good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Must be willing to listen, learn, and follow instructions.
- Previous forklift experience helpful but not required (training provided).
