Company Description: ACS Manufacturing, Inc. has one of the largest facilities in the industry, nearly 300,000 square feet on 36 acres in Denison, Texas an additional 150,000 square feet facility in Abbeville, SC. and is now expanding its operations to a 325,000 Square foot facility in Clearfield Utah.
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Supervisor is responsible for applying Quality principles and practices to a broad range of project assignments, including inspections. This role oversees and supervises a wide variety of technical and administrative assignments and effectively interacts with others. This position may serve as Quality Representative for ISO, UL and ETL audits. In this position, the candidate will lead the root cause and corrective action at the Utah facility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process fidelity and integrity to corporate standards and policies
- Product quality assurance in conformance to customer specifications and expectations
- Development and maintenance of the site production related tool and equipment calibration program
- Management of the document control and access system for all facility production documents in accordance and in fulfillment of the ISO 9001 standard requirements
- Effective supervision of the Utah facility Quality Assurance department
- Champion the adherence of the corporate priorities of Safety, Quality and Productivity
- Training and mentoring of facility employees on progressive disciplines like:
- Lean Manufacturing – Principles and Techniques
- A3 Problem Solving Methodology
- Quality Principles and Tools
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.
- Supervise the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products.
- Devise and establish the company's quality procedures, standards, specifications and directives
- Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
- Develop and sustain a strict document control system for all specifications, drawings, procedures and policies; particularly in full compliance to ISO 9001 requirements
- Lead a team of Quality Auditors & QC Inspectors and perform periodic performance reviews
- Hire, terminate, coach and develop the Utah QA staff members as appropriate.
- Monitor quality performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports; produce and publish data and reports as measured against established standards and goals.
- Audit materials provided by suppliers or customers to assure quality before incorporation into the final product.
- Investigate causes of production quality problems and propose solutions in full cooperation with production and administrative staff.
- Assist in develop quality training programs and train employees on the proper execution of quality control functions.
- Keep abreast of customer change requirements and needs on a job-by-job basis
- Work with production suppliers, contractors and outsourcing firms to insure product meet quality requirements.
- Oversee the inspection of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet quality and BOM requirements.
- Work with Engineering, Scheduling and Project Management to develop the customer job launch and execution strategy to meet product quality and delivery requirements.
- Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
- Establish and maintain quality inspection and test procedures and criteria, and all associated quality records; including the maintenance and certification of quality inspection tools and/or software systems.
- Support the development and adherence of robust error-free production processes.
- Insure all products made are built in compliance with regulatory and legislation standards; local, national and international; and meet all customer expectations.
- Establish an effective and maintain a non-conformance material / material discrepancy program; in the management and disposition of defective products and materials.
- Support the resolution of customer audit corrective actions and improvement findings.
- Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality using systematic problem-solving methodologies.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other corporate QA Managers on the establishment of quality objectives and best practices.
- Insure the compliance to local, state and federal compliance for the product including regulatory requirements like UL and other similar product / QMS certification needs.
- Promote, advocate and recognize quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
- Maintain an active role in the support of continuous improvement initiatives by participating in the development of a LEAN manufacturing culture and facilitating change.

Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- The QA manager needs to be able to inspect product requiring stooping, bending, kneeling, working at heights, twisting and checking product in tight quarters. The position entails being able to work in cold and hot temperatures environments and in outdoor rainy conditions.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- Proven ability to lead a diverse team of quality technicians.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels.
- strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and management skills.
- Proficiency with MS-Office; especially Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and remaining resilient to constant changes to requirements and expectations.
- Ability to speak multiple languages and lead a multicultural teams is a plus
- Demonstrate a proactive, assertive, confident, trustworthy, self-accountable and open leadership style.
- B.S. degree or equivalent experience / education combination.
- Minimum of 10 years of related welding-based manufacturing experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in performing quality assurance / control functions with direct knowledge of QA methodologies.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Training and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques; certification preferred.
- Experience in reading and interpreting complex fabrication or engineering drawings
- AWS D1.1 knowledge highly preferred
- ISO 9001 support and compliance experience preferred
