Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards and comply with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality systems, manufacturing processes, and inspection techniques, along with a passion for maintaining excellence in food safety and product integrity.


Essential Functions

  • Develop, implement, and maintain food safety policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to food safety protocols.
  • Provide training and education to employees on proper food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices to minimize the risk of foodborne illnesses and contamination.
  • Monitor and analyze data related to food safety metrics, such as microbiological testing results and sanitation records, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about changes in food safety regulations and industry trends and communicate relevant updates to management and staff.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns regarding food safety issues and take appropriate actions to address and resolve them.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and audits and ensure timely and accurate reporting of any incidents or violations.
  • Oversee the maintenance of records and documentation related to food safety activities, including HACCP plans, sanitation logs, and training records.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and committees focused on continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety, quality, and compliance.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Certification in food safety, such as Certified Food Safety Manager (CFM) or Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety management or a related role within the food industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, including FDA Food Code, FSMA, and GMPs.
  • Strong understanding of food microbiology, hazard analysis, and risk assessment principles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and food safety management software.
  • PCQI certification is a must.
  • SQF Practitioner Certification preferred.
  • Multilingual (Spanish/English/Hindi) – Intermediate conversational proficiency or higher
