A Junior QC Engineer Job profile is mainly to supports senior QC/QA in routine inspection, documentation, and basic problem solving for compression tube fittings, focusing on dimensional/visual checks and correct assembly performance. The role is hands‑on on the shop floor with strong emphasis on gauges, drawings, and maintaining inspection records.
- Assist in ensuring that tube fittings meet drawing, specification, and functional requirements (leak‑tightness, correct make‑up, pressure rating).
- Support implementation of quality procedures, routine inspections, and documentation under guidance of Senior QC/QA Engineer.
Key Responsibilities (Junior Level)
- Carry out routine incoming, in‑process, and final inspection of tube fittings (bodies, nuts, ferrules) as per drawing and check sheets provided.
- Check critical dimensions (tube OD, thread, across flats, bore, chamfer, ferrule profile) using basic instruments like vernier, micrometer, gauges, and visual inspection for burrs, dents, die marks, and surface defects.
- Perform simple functional checks: trial assembly of tube fittings, correct ferrule bite, make‑up and re‑make, and leak/pressure checks as per work instructions.
- Record inspection results in formats/ERP, label and segregate OK and rejected lots, and immediately inform senior QC / production for non‑conformities.
- Preparation of basic inspection reports, packing inspection, and checking marking, batch numbers, and traceability on fittings and boxes.
- Support 5S and housekeeping in QC area, and follow safety and EHS rules while handling fittings, gauges, and testing setups.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Basic understanding of tube fittings, their parts, and correct installation practice.
- Ability to read simple mechanical drawings and use measuring instruments (Vernier Calipers, micrometer, thread plug/ring gauges, calipers for tube OD, etc.).
- Awareness of common tests and quality checks for tube/pipe fittings (visual, dimensional, hardness or pressure / leak as applicable).
- Good observation, patience, and discipline in following checklists, sampling plans, and reporting formats.
Typical Qualifications and Experience
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical (or equivalent) with 0–2 years of experience; fresher can be considered with training if having good measurement and drawing reading skills.
