Company Overview:

We’re seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager (QCM) to lead quality-assurance and quality-control operations in accordance with Federal and project-specific specifications.

Position Summary:

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the project’s Quality Control Plan (QCP) to ensure all work complies with contract documents, technical specifications, and Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) requirements. The QCM will oversee testing, inspection, documentation, and corrective-action processes, coordinating with the Owner, Architect, and subcontractors to maintain compliance and quality performance throughout all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and submit a comprehensive Quality Control Plan within required timeframes.
  • Manage and document all testing and inspection activities (source, field, and product tests).
  • Verify that all work meets contract and specification requirements.
  • Coordinate with testing agencies, manufacturers, and third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain logs, records, and reports of tests, inspections, non-conforming work, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct continuous inspection of workmanship and materials.
  • Oversee and verify subcontractor compliance with project quality standards.
  • Provide weekly and final documentation of quality control activities.
  • Support project management with quality documentation during close-out.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2.5 years of experience managing or executing QA/QC programs on similar Federal or institutional construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and implementing quality-control plans and managing inspection/testing programs.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and applicable standards (ASTM, NIST, OSHA, etc.).
  • Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with FAR, 29 CFR 1910.7, and ASTM E 329 testing requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project documentation platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior QCM experience on Federal Bureau of Prisons, VA, USACE, or other Federal construction projects.
  • Knowledge of commissioning and system start-up quality verification.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
  • Engineering or construction management degree (preferred, not required).

Work Environment:

This role requires daily onsite presence during construction activities and coordination with government representatives, testing agencies, and subcontractors.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
