Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a quality control manager to support Letterkenny's Depot mission of repairing and modernizing U.S. weapons, air and missile defense systems, and the supporting infrastructure require a comprehensive understanding of industrial mission-critical environments. Supporting U.S. and Allied Forces at the Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD) and overseas while continuously implementing new mission requirements is central to our approach. These efforts rely on a highly qualified workforce whose technical expertise, safety culture, and commitment to excellence ensure mission success. As a Quality Control Manageryou will oversee all contract quality requirements, ensuring services and deliverables meet established standards through regular inspections, performance monitoring, and compliance verification. Importantly, proactively identify issues, facilitate corrective actions, and engage with project leadership to maintain consistent, high-quality performance across the program.
Responsibilities:5–10 years of quality assurance/quality control experience in a manufacturing, depot, or industrial production environment.
Strong understanding of ISO 9001, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies; certification (LSSGB/LSSBB) preferred.
Proven experience with inspection processes, quality audits, root-cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) development.
Familiarity with DoD depot operations, technical data packages (TDPs), and military quality standards (e.g., MIL-STD series) highly desirable.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
Skilled in the use of quality measurement tools, gauges, and statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
Strong data analysis and reporting abilities, including trend identification and performance metrics.
Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills with the ability to train teams and interface with Government representatives.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
