Compensation: Hourly Rate $80+/hour (DOE)

Per Diem: $1120/week

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager (1099 Contract Position) to support a large semiconductor construction project in California, working directly with a major mechanical contractor. This role will be responsible for overseeing QA/QC activities associated with process piping installation (high purity), orbital welding, pressure testing, and inspection activities in accordance with ASME B31.3 and project-specific quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure piping fabrication and installation activities comply with ASME B31.3, project specifications, and approved procedures
• Coordinate closely with the General Contractor and client project management team on quality expectations and issue resolution
• Work directly with general contractor, mechanical contractor leadership including project managers, superintendents, welding foreman and craft.
• Provide oversight and technical direction to client direct-hire and contract QC inspectors.
• Oversee and support welder qualifications, welding procedure compliance, inspection planning, pressure testing and documentation compliance.
• Support quality assurance efforts to meet client and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred
• VT Level Il certification acceptable based on relevant project experience
• Strong knowledge of ASME codes, high-purity piping systems, orbital welding and bonding processes.
• Proven ability to work directly with project management, construction supervision, and craft personnel
• 5+ years experience with semiconductor high purity process piping systems strongly preferred.

Work Schedule

• Typical schedule: 10 hours per day, Monday through Friday
• Occasional Saturday work may be required based on project demands
• Project-based schedule with expected long-term duration

Pay: From $80.00 per hour

Work Location: On the road
