Quality Control Officer

Role Purpose

Ensure effective quality control by implementing and monitoring quality procedures within the company’s Food Safety Management System, supervising production-line QC, and driving compliance, hygiene, and documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

❖ Implement and monitor quality procedures in line with the Food Safety Management System.

❖ Oversee QC monitoring across production lines and verify in-process checks (weights, coding, sealing, metal detection/X-ray where applicable).

❖ Supervise cleaning and sanitation activities and verify they are performed according to approved procedures and schedules.

❖ Ensure nonconforming materials/products are segregated in the designated hold area and clearly labeled with “Nonconforming” tags.

❖ Coordinate with the Quality Control Manager on disposition of nonconforming quantities, including rework, rejection, or safe disposal.

❖ Develop and improve QC procedures to meet system requirements and continuous-improvement goals.

❖ Contribute to company and personnel hygiene programs; ensure implementation on the floor and provide coaching to operators.

❖ Maintain accurate records and file all documents in the correct locations as defined by the Food Safety Management System.

❖ Execute tasks in accordance with approved work instructions and SOPs.

❖ Perform any additional duties within the job scope as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications

❖ Diploma/Bachelor’s in Food Science, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, or related field.

❖ 1–3 years’ experience in food manufacturing (dairy/ice cream preferred).

❖ Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and FSSC 22000; familiar with sanitation verification and nonconformance handling.

Skills & Attributes

❖ Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and floor presence.

❖ Clear communication and teamwork with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Procurement.

❖ Proactive problem-solver with sound judgment in product-hold and disposition decisions.

❖ Comfortable with basic QC tools (scales, thermometers, pH meters, refractometers) and MS Excel/Google Sheets.

Working Conditions

❖ Onsite role with regular time on production floors and cold areas.

❖ Shift or weekend work may be required based on production schedules.

❖ Adherence to PPE, hygiene zoning, and safety rules is mandatory.
