Quality Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes for the Smart Grid Projects in Karachi. The Quality Engineer will assist in inspections, documentation, and compliance verification across all project subsystems including Automation Systems, Telecom, Electrical, and Control Center. This role is critical in ensuring that all project deliverables meet the required standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:1. Quality Assurance & Control

• Assist in implementing the Project Quality Management Plan (QMP) and QA/QC procedures.
• Conduct inspections and tests on materials, installations, and systems to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Support the preparation and review of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Method Statements (MS).

2. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain quality documentation including:
• Inspection Reports (IR)
• Material Inspection Reports (MIR)
• Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)
• Field Change Reports (FCR)
• Ensure proper documentation of test results, observations, and corrective actions.

3. Site Support

• Perform daily site inspections and monitor construction and installation activities.
• Coordinate with site supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve quality issues.
• Verify that all materials and equipment are inspected and approved before installation.

4. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure adherence to project specifications, international standards (ISO, IEC, IEEE), and client requirements.
• Participate in internal and external audits and support the implementation of corrective actions.

5. Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues.
• Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement among project teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in Quality Control or ISO 9001 is an advantage.
