Quality Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:

To promote Quality Control in the Technical Department using the principles of Total Quality Management to improve the efficiency and cost effectiveness maintenance work carried out throughout the organization.

Technical Support, Optimization and Quality section, auditing, and analytical part of the Engineering Department, he is the start step for optimization, Quality, and sustainability for performance improvement for engineering department.

As a Quality Engineer you are required to look for new quality methods to increase availability and reliability of terminal equipment and motivate technical members to apply these methods. assure the reliability and availability of equipment by checking processes and final output.

Review current standards, external quality assurance & policies and ensure that it is met with all technical activities.

The job holder will be required to plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards and ensure standards are within the framework of DP World. He will also be required to implement and compile with Fatal Risk Standards, Safe Work practices and HSE policy.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Manage and Develop: -

• Ensure best practice is followed in implementing annual material plan for Engineering Department that will lead to increase assets availability with minimize COPQ (cost of poor Quality).
• Ensuring all safety activities related to Engineering are executed in proper way within its time frame as per DP World Standards.
• Ensuring that the Business cases and AFE (Approval for Expenditure) are up to quality standards and will add value to the company.
• Lead Terminal Asset inspection Program to ensure terminal assets are in a good condition and avoid negative risks as per DP World critical items standards which will ensure safe working environment, cost reduction and increase profit as per DP World Engineering and Structural Inspection standard.
• Ensure that Preventive Maintenances Program for all terminal equipment is implemented in optimized and quality manner as per DP World Engineering Policy.
• Apply Reliability and quality techniques like time motion study to ensure optimized use of resources with best performance.

Plan, Monitor and Control: -

• Plan, design and implement failure analysis program for all equipment breakdowns as a part of FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) methodology to ensure efficient and optimum solution is done which will increase assets availability and reliability hence increase productivity.
• Looking for Lean and Six Sigma Quality project opportunities in maintenance process to improve assets Condition with less cost, less waste, and less effort to increase profitability.

Execution: -

• Contribute in internal audit process in the terminal by being part of the audit team providing independent reviews and evaluations of the company's operations, information systems, controls, major business processes, records and reporting functions; and provide recommendations to be reported to the Management through final report preparation.
• Following up Incident investigations to ensure the required corrective actions have been done to avoid such incident in the future with communicating with safety and other departments to publish and provide appropriate internal awareness for involved persons.
• Implementing Engineering Appraisal Process to ensure optimized performance of technical member have been monitored, tracked, and enhanced to get optimum performance.
• Project member in Safety and Environment project like CO2 footprint, Safety Engagement program and energy consumption reduction.
• Following up all technical TBT, SOP & Risk Assessment and ensure that they cover all technical activities.
• Supervise MEA system (Middle East Area) which collects all Middle East terminals in one centralized system to facilitate and speed up terminals activities in the region and optimize cost.
• Check the Maintenance Program Execution Process and follow up work done by workshop and crane sections.
• Review and following up technical KPI’s to ensure efficiency of all Engineering activities.
• Responsible for quality training and development Implementation.

Assist and Support: -

Motivating and Energizing Engineering members by illustrating company, Engineering and safety targets to visual communication that increase their collaboration to achieve company objective.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Overall, 1-3 years’ experience in Engineering.
• Bachelor of Engineering
• Good command of English.
