Role Overview:
The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining quality standards across road, bridge, and infrastructure projects. The role supports the Quality Manager and project teams to ensure that construction activities comply with project specifications, codes, and project quality plans.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in implementing the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and approved method statements.
• Conduct site inspections for roads, bridges, utilities, and underpass works.
• Verify that materials delivered to site comply with approved submittals.
• Maintain and update QA/QC logs, NCRs, MIRs, ITRs, and other quality documentation.
• Perform inspections for concrete, asphalt, reinforcement, and bridge elements.
• Witness laboratory and field testing including slump tests, cube tests, and asphalt testing.
• Coordinate with third-party laboratories and testing agencies.
• Prepare QA/QC daily and weekly reports.
• Submit inspection requests (IRs) and follow up with consultants.
• Identify non-conformances and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Participate in technical meetings to address and solve quality issues.
Qualifications & Competencies:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 12–15 years of experience in QA/QC roles in roads, bridges, and infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Understanding of ISO 9001 principles (Lead Auditor certification is a plus).
• Knowledge of materials such as concrete, asphalt, steel reinforcement, and bridge components.
• Familiarity with inspection procedures and project specifications (AASHTO, ASTM, BS, MOT).
• Strong attention to detail and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple inspection tasks and work under pressure.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
