Quality Engineer

Job Title: Quality Engineer (QE) – Manual & Automation Testing

Role Overview

The Quality Engineer (QE) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions through comprehensive test planning, execution, automation, and production support. This role collaborates closely with development, product, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement in quality processes, test coverage, and system reliability.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both manual and automation testing, experience working in Agile/DevOps environments, and the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans aligned with project-specific requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure testing timelines align with milestones and delivery schedules.
• Design, execute, and maintain detailed test cases to ensure thorough functional and non-functional coverage.
• Lead and coordinate testing efforts across multiple concurrent projects.
• Act as the primary point of contact for testing activities.
• Prioritize testing tasks based on critical path and project dependencies.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

Automation Testing

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using tools such as:
• Selenium
• Playwright
• Cypress
• Cucumber (BDD framework)
• Implement scalable and reusable automation solutions to support continuous testing.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Continuously evaluate emerging automation tools and recommend improvements.
• Conduct performance testing using JMeter to assess scalability, reliability, and system behavior under load.
• Analyze and interpret performance test results, identifying bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.

CI/CD & DevOps Integration

• Work within CI/CD pipelines to enable automated test execution.
• Ensure automated regression testing is integrated into deployment workflows.
• Support continuous delivery initiatives through quality gate validations.

Database & Backend Validation

• Validate backend data using SQL queries.
• Perform database-level verification for data integrity and consistency.
• Support API testing and integration validation where required.

Operational & Production Support

• Provide operational support by monitoring production environments.
• Identify and troubleshoot production issues in collaboration with development teams.
• Participate in incident triage and root cause analysis.
• Propose preventive measures to minimize recurring defects.

Defect Management & Quality Improvement

• Log, track, and manage defects throughout the lifecycle.
• Conduct root cause analysis and recommend process improvements.
• Identify quality gaps and implement preventive testing strategies.
• Collaborate with development, product management, and support teams to ensure a holistic approach to quality assurance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 4–7+ years of experience in software quality engineering.
• Strong experience in manual and automation testing.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and/or Cucumber.
• Experience with JMeter for performance testing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong SQL/database knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing microservices and APIs.
• Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud-based applications (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools for production validation.
• ISTQB or equivalent certification (nice to have).

Pay: ₹9,905.42 - ₹43,921.62 per month
