Quality Engineer

Mueller Aluminum Impacts Company and MG Machining, renowned leaders in precision engineering, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring products and processes meet standards by designing quality tests, monitoring production, analyzing data, and fixing defects, and working across teams to implement improvements

Job description:
  • Submit and write customer corrective action reports (CAR). Review non-conformance reports if needed and follow up to ensure problems are permanently resolved and corrected. Follow up with customers were necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and troubleshooting
  • Able to work independently and in collaboration with other teams, and interact professionally with all colleagues, co-workers and customers.
  • Provide SPC data as requested by customer print and drive SPC to production Floor.
  • Adequate knowledge of IATF 16949 Quality System or AS9100 Quality Systems. Performed some prior internal audits experience is a plus.
  • Able to write and maintain work instructions, inspection instruction sheets and current Quality System documentation and Quality System procedures.
  • Assist Quality Manager in Quality System documentation control and record retention prior to audits.
  • Able to conduct some hard checks of DCP’s or print dimensions for PPAP Submissions; or give lab inspectors directions for dimension layouts.
  • Train inspectors and operators of required inspection during new program launches.
  • Lead inspection team and CMM / programmer, operators relating to dimensional control regarding new program and new project direction until PPAP completion.
  • Prior PPAP Submission Package paperwork completion and knowledge.
  • On occasion lead customer sorts and inspectors sorting directions at customer locations and internally when and where required.
  • Scrap data analysis and pareto analysis are a plus.
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness at workstation in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
  • Sort, set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
  • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education:
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related engineering field from an accredited institution is required.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
