1. Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC)
- Develop and implement QA/QC plans for civil works (concrete, earthworks, roadworks, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards (like ISO, ASTM, ACI), and local regulations.
- Monitor daily site activities to ensure quality procedures are being followed.
- Conduct inspections and supervise material testing (soil, concrete, asphalt, etc.).
- Ensure proper storage and handling to prevent damage or contamination
2. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain records of all quality-related documentation including inspection requests, test results, and non-conformance reports.
- Prepare and submit QA/QC reports to project management and clients.
- Ensure traceability and proper documentation of all construction materials and workmanship.
3. Material Inspection and Approval
- Inspect incoming materials and verify against specifications and test certificates
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for quality compliance.
- Approve materials and workmanship prior to use in the project.
4. Site Inspection and Supervision
- Conduct inspections for foundations, structural work, formwork, reinforcement, and finishing.
- Witness testing procedures for compressive strength, compaction, slump tests, etc.
- Identify and rectify quality issues or defects on-site.
- Witness and verify field and laboratory testing (slump, compaction, cube tests, etc.)
- Liaise with project managers, consultants, and subcontractors on quality-related matters.
- Participate in quality meetings and site coordination reviews
5. Non-Conformance Management
- Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs).
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with site teams.
6. Coordination and Communication
- Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, and client representatives on quality issues.
- Attend quality review meetings and inspections with stakeholders.
- Support the project team in maintaining construction standards.
7. Audit and Compliance
- Conduct internal audits and assist in external audits.
- Ensure that construction activities align with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
