Position Overview

Gelatys is seeking a hands-on, strategic Quality & Food Safety Manager to lead all quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives at our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Fort Myers, Florida.

This role is responsible for building and maintaining a world-class quality system that supports rapid national growth while protecting product integrity, brand reputation, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership capability, operational mindset, and the ability to thrive in a high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs across the facility

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve HACCP, FSMA, GMP, and Sanitation programs

• Ensure full compliance with FDA, state, and third-party audit standards

• Oversee environmental monitoring, allergen control, traceability, and recall readiness

• Lead internal and external audits (FDA, customer audits, certification bodies)

• Build and manage a high-performing Quality team (QA techs, supervisors, sanitation leads)

• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, and R&D to ensure food safety is embedded into daily operations

• Establish KPIs for quality performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives

• Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and root cause analyses

• Support new product launches ensuring regulatory and labeling compliance

• Ensure proper documentation, SOP development, and training programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field

• 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality leadership

• Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, GMPs, and food safety regulations

• Experience in frozen or dairy manufacturing preferred

• Experience leading audits from major retailers (Whole Foods, Sprouts, Kroger, etc.) highly valued

• Strong leadership and team development skills

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

• SQF, BRC, or PCQI certification is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
