Quality in Operation Manager

Role Purpose:

Lead the implementation of an integrated management system (Food Safety, Quality, Hygiene, etc.) to improve overall performance and foster a quality mindset across downstream operations.


Key Accountabilities:

Daily Operations:

  • Participate in daily performance review meeting (Short Interval Management),
  • Resolve daily non-conformities with Quality Engineers.
  • Contribute to, organize and manage Problem-Solving Group P.S.G to resolve any quality issues in the specified area and follow up on the progress of issues across the plant.
  • Eliminate critical problems using the PDCA methodology.
  • Manage Consumer Complaints.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’ to improve business processes, cost efficiency and productivity.

Quality mindset building:

  • Validate all quality aspects of projects to ensure implementation of quality standards in coordination with the Quality Assurance Section.
  • Ensure implementation of quality standards (online quality checks, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSI, sampling plan, etc…) with the Quality Engineers.
  • Promote Risk Assessment and “Built-in Quality” in all plant projects: productivity, new products, and new equipment.
  • Recommend improvements or develop quality standards on standard operating procedures
  • Ensure that downstream operations (branches, warehouses, and GCC) are supported in terms of quality requirements and maintain the required quality standards.
  • Ensure the implementation of proper market store checks on market.
  • Support GCC quality requirements in cooperation with the relevant Quality Engineer.


Neptune/Triton sanitation program :

  • Develop Neptune/Triton audit plan according to guidelines, also ensure implementation and follow up on Implementation.
  • Review the closure of all findings in all areas.
  • Oversee adherence of the compliance with the annual plan.


Consumer Complaints management:

  • Develop and manage proper tracking for all consumer complaints.
  • Monitor the complaint closure rate and ensure implementation of action plans for all Consumer complaints
  • Participate in investigation of all consumer complaints.
  • Analyze consumer complaints by number, type, trends, etc to recommend improvements.
  • Follow up and close GCC consumer complaints.

Continuous improvement:

  • Participate in and encourage involvement in operational excellence program through implemented improvement initiatives to achieve world-class manufacturing through productivity, people engagement, working environment, growth, and Quality ideas.

People Management :

  • Provide formal and informal feedback to subordinates in order to ensure their continuous development.
  • Organize training sessions and coach plant teams for daily quality management, particularly First Line Managers.
  • Coaches Front Line Managers and Quality engineers regarding quality, food safety and problem solving.

Policies, Processes & Procedures:

  • Implement approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
  • Follow standard operational procedures (SOPS) to ensure that all assigned tasks are carried out in a safe manner with good quality as per specified standards mentioned in SOP.

Reporting:

  • Ensure that all departmental reports are prepared in a timely manner, and accurately and meet the company and department requirements, standards, policies and procedures.


Safety, Quality & Environment:

  • Report near misses and safety risks on time through safety tags.
  • Ensure LOTO application during troubleshooting and plant activities for routine and non-routine tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, personal hygiene, housekeeping, equipment cleaning, floor cleaning, zoning, and 5S standards on a daily basis.
  • Adhere to all Food Safety System standards.
  • Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.


Education and Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in chemical/Micro or Industrial Engineering, Food Technologies or equivalent.

Experience, knowledge, expertise:

5 - 7 years of relevant experience in Quality and/or Operations with managerial skills.

Industry / Sub-Industry:

FMCG / Dairy / Juice / Food
